740 Aztec West Wins BCO Award

740 Aztec West Wins BCO Award

740 Waterside Drive, Aztec West,  picked up an architecture award on 5th May for ‘Best Refurbished/Recycled Workplace’ at the BCO South West, Thames Valley and South Wales awards in Bristol, much to the delight of our Head of Office and Workplace, Tristan Rhodes.

Previously characterised by a dark, dated interior and hidden behind an overgrown landscape; the first impressions of 740 have been transformed. The rejuvenated lakeside approach leads to a two-storey glazed entrance and spacious reception, whilst the office working environment is uplifted by increased natural light.

The high quality finish continues throughout as the works repositioned the building at the top end of the local rental market, which was instrumental in securing the 100% letting of the building.

The building was the first ever to be certificated under the BREEAM UK Refurbishment and Fit-Out Scheme and was rated ‘Very Good’. Upon completion, it was awarded an Energy Performance Certificate rating of ‘A’. As such, 740 Aztec West is the highest rated, non-new build development in Legal & General’s portfolio.
