Numerous Regional Directors appointed across the business

As we approach the halfway point of a historic year for our practice, which sees the retirement of Director Chris Saxon, and Kevin McDonald (who retires as Managing Director, but retains the role as Company Secretary), we are delighted to announce the appointment of a number Regional Directors across the business, with Darren Wilkins becoming Managing Director.

In our Bath office, Tristan Rhodes, who already has a very strong profile in the Bristol and Bath architectural scene, will be taking on the studio lead role from Philip Fawkner Corbett. Tristan will be taking over the reins of the thriving office that Philip has built up over twenty-five years in Bath. Philip will be working alongside Tristan into the first part of next year to ensure a smooth handover.

In Wales, Simon Trew will also move the role of Regional Director, working alongside Director Pierre Wassenaar and the senior team to lead the management of our Cardiff studio. With a growing team and a strong forward workload, Simon’s skills will further reinforce the management of this busy office.

Further west, in Plymouth, David Bayliss will join Director Alastair Wilson as Regional Director and studio lead. David will also be working with our Truro office to maintain the closely coordinated operations of both studios. With an in-depth knowledge of the construction scene in the south west and over twenty years’ experience with the practice’s Plymouth office, David is ideally placed to take on the role.

In Birmingham, after a successful first full year leading the newest of Stride Treglown’s network of offices, Ian Tipton becomes a Regional Director with a remit to continue to build our Midlands presence. Having already secured exciting new projects and framework appointments in the region, prospects are looking good for Ian and his team.

Gareth Mason is taking over as Sector Leader for our Retail Team. Gareth will be coordinating our growing capability in this sector across all nine of our UK offices, as well as working closely with our workplace and residential teams to design and deliver mixed use developments.

As our industry faces a renewed round of change and uncertainty, these appointments are evidence of the strength in depth that our practice can draw upon and of our confidence in our ability to continue to evolve and grow.
