I am a Regional Director with responsibility for the Bath Studio of Stride Treglown, with forty years experience in the field of Architecture, design, team leadership, brief interpretation and project delivery. My expertise is in Mental Health Care, Higher and Further Education, framework management, commercial, Historic context, Crematoria, public realm design and the environs of Bath.
A major driver in my holistic enjoyment and appreciation in Architecture relates to designing in complex environs and also the relationship of building exterior to interior to the foremost advantage of the introduction of natural light to the interior. A well designed built environment affects the well being of all participants in that environment whether building user/passer by. The Architect is in a unique and privileged position to contribute to the day to day function and quality of the built environment – a role that should never be underestimated and always should be respected.
The world outside work is multifaceted and a core element is to achieve a balanced life style with varied interests and commitment and to achieve a reasonable level of exercise. These interests include : long term cricketer [no longer playing but now Chairman of the largest UK amateur cricket club in the UK with 2500 members – The Forty Club]; orienteer [former Chairman of the Bristol Orienteering Klub]; family and the new generation; Non Executive Director of Business West; President of the Bath Chamber of Commerce; stakeholder representative for the Bath World Heritage Site.
