Redeveloping the Quay with luxury living

This scheme for Crest Nicholson is part of the masterplan for the redevelopment of the Portishead Quays site in North Somerset.

Sixty8 looked to create both townhouses and apartments with direct view of the marina. The terraced five storey townhouses have lots of space: a top floor sun room and roof terrace, first floor piano nobile open to the kitchen below with a front terrace, a rear courtyard and garage. The seven-storey apartment building provides luxury in the form of something a little smaller, and links in with the height of a proposed building on an adjoining plot.

All the apartments are accessed via a single core to the rear of the building which rises from a courtyard where parking is provided. Each apartment has either a terrace or a balcony to enjoy the fine views over the marina. Street elevations of both the townhouses and the apartments have projecting bays clad in a composite board with a natural wood finish. The apartments also have large planes of natural timber to the street frontages and brick and render to the rear.
