University of the West of England Condition Survey
Condition survey of estate
On the University’s Frenchay campus, near Bristol there are over 40 buildings, ranging from listed Victorian farm buildings and 1970s purpose-designed higher education blocks to early 2000s additions including residential accommodation and a sports hall and the recently acquired ex Hewlett Packard 1980s computer facility buildings.
Stride Treglown was appointed to provide master planning advice to the university, but as part of that commission Stride Treglown’s building surveyors were asked to review the general condition of the university’s various buildings on the Frenchay Campus and advise regarding the general condition and any constraints affecting possible refurbishment and/or alteration. The information generated was used to inform the masterplanning process and provide a ‘high level’ report to the university’s governing body.
