We’re shortlisted for three international Interior Design awards

22nd September 2022

Congratulations to our Interior Design team who have recently secured three shortlists at FX International Interior Design Awards 2022.

The prestigious FX Awards invite design talent from all over the world to enter the very best of interior products and projects. Each year a different panel of 20 independent experts, comprising engineers, clients, architects, and designers from many different sectors, are invited to judge submissions. Make no mistake, these awards celebrate serious achievements.

Shortlisted in the Build to Rent (PRS) category is Thames Quarter, our striking residential scheme located on a prominent city centre site in Reading.

The development provides 315 high-quality apartments with several shared communal areas designed to reinforce a sense of community for residents. The interior design strategy was based upon a rich local narrative, focusing on the culture clash of busy commuter lives and the need for open green spaces.

Meanwhile, the University of Reading’s Health and Life Sciences building has been shortlisted in two categories: Public Sector and UK Project of the Year.

The new £55m building, housing the Departments of Ecology and Environmental Biology, Biomedical Science, Bioinformatics, and Cole Museum of Zoology, provides an inspirational setting for learning and research. The central atrium features a café and spectacular displays including a False Killer Whale and the skeleton of a large elephant.

The building narrative was developed around a dragonfly wing, one of the earliest fossils found in the Cole Museum’s collection, with interior finishes focused around a natural pallet of materials and warm tones of greens, yellows and orange.

Winners will be announced at The FX International Awards ceremony in London on Wednesday 30th November 2022. Get in touch with our Head of Interior Design, Anabel Oreiro if you’re planning to attend and would like to arrange a catch up.
