Stride Treglown Architects has teamed up with Alastair Bell, a hotel and design consultant with over 30 years experience, who will join the architect’s hotel team enabling it to offer clients the ‘complete package’ when it comes to hotel design.
Having worked on and designed a number of award-winning projects throughout the UK, Alastair will be working alongside Stride Treglown’s team to convert large scale hotel projects and target new opportunities as the practice continues to strengthen its presence in the hotel sector.
Alastair has been involved in many award-winning schemes including the Hoxton Hotel, voted Best UK Hotel 2009 by The Guardian & Observer Travel section, and for the refurbishment of the Crown Plaza hotel in Ealing which was voted Best upgrade by IHG in 2009.
According to Stride Treglown’s chairman Bob Whittington, someone with Alastair’s success rate and reputation in the industry fitted the exact profile they were looking for. He said: “We were keen to team up with an individual who has unrivalled contacts and experience in the hotel design business, and having worked on a vast range of hotel-related projects with some of the industry’s leading brands for many years, Alastair was our number one choice as a consultant.
The team is excited to be working alongside someone with Alastair’s pedigree and his appointment really strengthens the credentials of our team as we look to build on our growing reputation in delivering high-quality projects in the hotel sector.”
With over 30 years experience as a hotel architecture and interior specialist, Alastair joins Stride Treglown from his own company AB Design Limited which is currently developing hotels in the Peak District and St Albans. Before that he spent many years as a partner in Bell Slater where he cemented his reputation and saw him win numerous major contracts in the face of stiff opposition from large practices.
He said: “I’m really energised about the new challenge of working with Stride Treglown and its hotel team. We have some exciting projects in the pipeline and I very much hope I can bring something extra to the equation, and together I’m confident we can push Stride Treglown’s hotel offering on to the next level and establish it as a major force in the UK hotel sector.”
