Bath’ed in glory: a fond farewell to Phil Fawkner-Corbett

On Thursday, 26th October, we hosted the retirement party of retirement parties at Bath’s Guidhall to bid a fond farewell to Phil Fawkner-Corbett. Phil led our Bath office and was celebrating a 37 year career with Tektus and Stride Treglown, working on notable projects such us The Roper Building, Twerton Mill and James House.

We also took the opportunity to formally welcome Tristan Rhodes into his role as Regional Director. Tristan has been working closely with Phil over the past 9 months to ensure a smooth transition and commented;

Phil is a true sportsman. Both in the office and on the cricket pitch, he always played with a straight bat. Except with his diary, when we never knew if he was in or out. He’s left us with great client relationships and it’s up to us to continue his legacy. We will miss his energy and team spirit, and as he retires we wish him a fond farewell.

We would like to thank all 200 guests in attendance, including past and present colleagues, clients, family, friends and faces from the property sector and local business community. A fabulous selection of canapes was provided by Baraka catering, with flowers by the Wilde Bunch adorning the hall, music by Jig Box, and speeches from David Hunter, Tristan Rhodes, Dougal Anderson, Stuart Currie and Phil.

Bath Life’s upcoming feature on the event, with Paolo Ferla’s stunning photographs, is the cherry on top of this amazing celebration of a life-long career in Architecture, and the beginning of a new chapter for Stride Treglown Bath.
