If you weren’t in this career, what would you be?
A Forecasting Archaeologist. Being half-Greek has meant that ancient history and mythology were my ‘fairy tales’ growing up as a child. During my time working in Trends Forecasting (nothing at all to do with the fashion industry), looking backwards and understanding the ‘whys’ and ‘hows’ of societal behaviours very much provides the basis for seeing ahead and projecting ‘what next’.
What are the key challenges that affect your sector, or are likely to in the next five years?
Staying relevant and keeping ahead of the curve in a fast-moving world where ‘temporary’ is the new ‘permanent’. Capturing the imagination of early-adopters, and filtering conditions that continue to engage, evolve and grow with our clients beyond ‘fashion’. No mean feat!
What advice would you give your 20 year old self?
It’s ok to not know everything! Keep asking questions, of yourself as well as others, stay curious! Allow yourself time and space to learn > unlearn > relearn. No cats were harmed in the making of this advice!
What’s the greatest invention ever?
Teleportation – it’s the future (see ‘temporary’ above)!

As a child – ‘Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There’ by Lewis Caroll; as an adult – ‘Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking’ by Malcolm Gladwell
