Beginning a new sustainable programme for the University of Liverpool

The Vine Court Residences development is the first stage of a long term University plan to provide around 3,500 student beds within the city campus area, through major refurbishment projects and new build developments.

Our brief included the requirement to rearrange a large part of the development to meet Tourism England standard, providing conference accommodation outside term times. The scheme provides a range of accommodation types from 2 to 6 bed clusters and a number of penthouse apartments with the option to open large areas into a more traditional open halls arrangement.

We embraced the University’s sustainable aspirations for this project and achieved a BREEAM “Excellent” rating. The building includes a range of sustainable design features including LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, solar thermal hot water, green and brown roofs.

I have no hesitation in recommending Stride Treglown… I have found them to be creative, innovative, easy to work with, responsive, listening, and dynamic. They delivered the brief and also added value far beyond that. The University has achieved, in partnership with Stride Treglown, a superb, leading edge designed Hall of Residence for the 21st century and one that I believe creates a new and exciting benchmark for the Student Accommodation Sector.
