Jake works across multiple sectors in the Birmingham studio and has a keen interest in biophilic design.
What is the current big trend in your sector?
The current trend that excites me the most is the emergence of parametric design being used to create biophilic patterns. It’s going to be interesting to see the extent to which this technology can make constructing organic and natural forms more accessible in the built environment.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Outside of work I spend most of my time converting a long wheelbase panel van into a mini home on wheels, which will be used to travel across the UK and possibly beyond!
Best book you’ve read?
Atomic habits by James Clear is a book I’d highly recommend to anyone. It teaches you how to form small habits which compound over time to make a huge difference in the way in which you live your life.
What is your proudest moment?
I am currently the reigning champion at my local pub for the two-pint welly boot challenge with a record-setting time of 8.98 seconds.
What’s the best food ever invented?
Without a doubt the cream tea. Delightfully irresistible, warm inside, and originates from Devon. A bit like me!
