Heritage meets modular

Located just off the Great Western Railway station precinct and only an hour from London Paddington, this new hotel will become a corporate leisure destination providing a much needed boost to the local economy.

As a premium budget brand, Hampton is not typically associated with the conversion of Grade II Listed buildings. But here we are repurposing and renovating a historic laundry to provide a visually rich and spatially generous food and beverage offer.

Stride Treglown gained Planning and Listed Building consent for 112 bedrooms. The majority of these rooms will be constructed using an offsite containerised solution developed by CIMC Modular Building Systems.

This will be the third project we have delivered using offsite bedroom fabrication which is fully fitted out in China, then shipped and stacked in-situ in a matter of weeks before cladding.

Led by our architectural team, our building surveying team undertook the heritage assessments, whilst our interior design team will be responsible for delivering a contextual scheme that makes the most of the historic site.
