20 Manvers Street shortlisted for BCO and RICS awards

Stride Treglown’s refurbishment of 20 Manvers Street is shortlisted for both the BCO ‘South of England & South Wales’ Awards 2018 and the RICS Awards 2018, South West ‘Commercial Project of the Year’.

Last year the project won Insider Media South West Property Award ‘Office Development of the Year 2017’ and is now one of the highest rated, non-new build developments in West Midlands Pension Fund’s portfolio.

Refurbishment in a World Heritage Site

Located between two listed buildings in a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the 1970’s office building was comprehensively refurbished with a modern, yet sympathetic design. A new glazed entrance at pavement level enhances the relationship between building and public realm, while a rooftop glass box offers panoramic views of the city.

Internally, a new double height ground floor reception and fourth floor provide 44,994 sq. ft. of high quality Grade A office space. The project attains high environmental standards with one of the largest roof level photovoltaic arrays in Bath and is set to achieve BREEAM ‘Very Good’ and an EPC Rating A.

Michael Roult of CBRE Global Investors commented:

“Stride Treglown have been central to the successful delivery of the Manvers Street project. Their experience in heritage settings, sensitive design approach and attention to detail in the delivery of quality architecture was instrumental in delivering a complex and challenging urban redevelopment in the heart of a sensitive heritage city.”

The project team included Buro Four, Norman Disney & Young and Integral Engineering.

Both awards ceremonies take place in May.
