We love it when Pride rolls around each year.
And, when it comes to the @LFA Pride Float Competition, that rolling becomes pretty literal. Whilst we didn’t win, we still wanted to share what we designed in the spirit of Pride.
Remember Shape Sorters?
Square goes here. Circle there.
Everything neatly in the box. A simple toy that sends a simple message. Conform, fit in.
Not really in the spirit of the queer community, though, is it?
That’s why we’re taking the Shape Sorter and deconstructing it. One size fits y’all. No wrong shapes—no set boundaries. Just a party on wheels, in the shape of an iconic toy, rolling on through the Pride parade and straight to you.

The sides of the shape remain, whilst the front and back have been swapped out for rainbow-coloured rope curtains—a symbol of rigid boundaries broken through. With the floor also removed, anywhere the float goes is a dancefloor.
No monochrome. Never monotone. It’s a place filled with colour, disco balls and club bangers—where everyone in the LGBTQIA+ can join the party, celebrate Pride, and truly feel they belong.
