Ryan Walsh

Associate Technologist

As an Architectural Technologist, Ryan bridges the gap between imaginative design and real-world construction. His role is all about turning creative architectural ideas into buildable, technically-sound realities.

Day-to-day, he work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure that what we design on paper actually works on site.

Ryan, if you weren’t in this career, what would you be?

If I weren’t an architectural technician, my dream job would be working as a bike mechanic for a professional cycling team. Both roles require a high level of technical precision, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail — whether it’s designing structural elements or fine-tuning a race bike for peak performance.

Best networking event you’ve been to?

SUP cup, a paddleboarding team event in the centre of Bristol. Great fun as long as you don’t fall in! It was incredibly enjoyable working as a team.

Best building in your city?

Not a building but a bridge, Clifton Suspension Bridge has those long distance views that are to die for. Every time I go over it, it feels like I’ve unlocked an adventure with enchanting forests — as if you’ve stumbled onto Vancouver Island.

What’s the greatest invention ever?

My current favourite is my dog backpack which carries my dog into the office everyday by bicycle. She loves it and so does everyone else, from scaffolders to school children.
