Green Park House
Combining a finely detailed Georgian Bath stone aesthetic with a modern method of construction
Following our successful role on Dorset House, student accommodation in Oxford for Berkeley Homes Ltd, we were approached again to provide detail design services on Green Park House, the site of a former residential care home and office block, which was being demolished and redeveloped into a 461 bed student accommodation scheme.
This design represented more of a technical challenge than Dorset House, combining a finely detailed Georgian Bath stone aesthetic with a modern method of construction. Over 30 different module types have been coordinated and created to resolve the many changes in level and appearance required. We are providing the role of delivery architect with Berkeley Homes’ in-house team having designed the building originally.
Following their good performance on our previous project, Dorset House, Stride Treglown were the obvious choice for this scheme. It was an inherently more complicated scheme than Dorset House, combining modular construction with a stone Georgian façade. Their knowledgeable and flexible approach to the technical delivery of the project worked well with our construction team to produce a building we are all proud of. We look forward to working with them again.
