Health and Life Sciences wayfinding
Background
The University of Reading is developing a new ‘Health and Life Sciences Teaching Zone’ to support their strategic commitment to the life sciences, which they regard as a key scientific area with sustained long-term growth potential.
Outcome
Stride Treglown Graphic Design created a collection of wall and glazing graphics for the University of Reading’s new Health and Life Sciences faculty building. As part of the project we also designed the wayfinding scheme and associated signs.
The focal point of the scheme is a 2 storey 11.5 metre high graphic to the main glazed facade. The graphic, an interpretation of a dragonfly wing, is directly printed on to the main glazed façade.
Internally, wall graphics, large scale wayfinding items, and manifestations use sections of the dragon fly graphic to carry the theme throughout the building.
The comprehensive wayfinding scheme and signs we created for the building, both internally and externally, applied the University’s own sign design guidelines for continuity of style in the campus setting.
