Mayflower Cruise Terminal
Refurbishment on a tight deadline
The refurbishment of Mayflower Cruise Terminal started on site at the end of October 2014. The majority of the £5m contract value was within the existing building shell, which was just as well; delays from weather could not be tolerated with a project that required completion by the beginning of April, when the first cruise ship arrives for the start of the 2015 season.
The Contractor (Brymor) worked a 12 hour day, six day week throughout the contract period to meet the project deadline – and the terminal was handed over to ABP at midnight on 18th April.
The first cruise ship arrived on the 25th April.
