We are committed to climate action

20th September 2019

We are marking the Global Climate Action day with a series of debates across our regional offices. We’ll discuss the effects of climate change and how we, as individuals and as a practice, can make a positive environmental impact.

We have already signed the Architects Declare Climate and Biodiversity Emergency commitment and are reviewing our own procedures to respond to the targets recently set out in the RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge.

We acknowledge that there is a lot more to be done across the construction sector to address how projects actually perform compared to how they were designed to perform.

There are solutions. Back in 2009 we delivered our own carbon neutral Cardiff office and since then have continued to explore how we can incorporate low-energy design into our projects.

We invite our clients and those we work with to have a conversation with us about how we can tackle sustainability issues together.

The first Global Climate Strike coincides with the launch of The Therapeutic City Festival in Bath. Rob Delius, our Head of Sustainability, along with Architecture IS, has organised a week of events to explore how cities can, by replacing cars with blue and green space, be good for our physical and mental health, as well as for the planet.
