David Banner, architect and visualisation specialist, is speaking at RIBA South West’s ‘Visualising the Future’ event on 13th June.
He will talk about how we are using real-time rendering software and virtual walk-throughs to improve both the client’s and architect’s understanding of the design, but in an immersive environment.
David will use a student accommodation scheme for Falmouth University to demonstrate the cost, time and design benefits for the client. The project comprises six floors of accommodation over an open, contemporary business space and David will explain how he used real-time rendering software to produce an innovative design in a short space of time.
About David
David is a visualisation specialist in our Plymouth and Truro offices and uses 3D rendering software to create incredible concept CGI’s for the early stages of a project.
Having joined for a summer job back in 2005, David remained with us during his qualifying years and throughout his degree at Plymouth University and diploma at Oxford Brookes. He now has extensive experience of education, residential and student accommodation projects and leads many bids for the practice.
David worked closely with the developer, Acorn Blue, to produce a landmark proposal for the apartments at One Lusty Glaze; a prominent location in Newquay. The project was awarded a 5 star Gold for ‘Best Residential Development Cornwall’ at the UK Property Awards in 2016.
He has continued to work with Acorn Blue to lead the delivery of The Dunes development on the headland, overlooking Perranporth Beach.
