Ffos Caerffili, the new community-focused market that forms part of the new Caerphilly Town 2035 placemaking plan, officially opened to the public last week.
Located on the main pedestrian route between Caerphilly Castle and the train station, the market launched with a programme of family-friendly events, including live music, activities, and food and drink from the local traders — all enjoyed whilst taking in the beautiful views of Caerphilly Castle.
The market saw many familiar Caerphilly faces meet under one roof, including Up Market Family Butchers, who opened a fishmonger at the new market; The Circular Studio, a vintage clothing shop; Lock Up Bottle Shop, selling alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks; and Joe’s Plant Place, a one-stop shop for all things houseplants.
With 28 commercial shipping container units, 15 outdoor market stalls, seven bars and restaurants, and space for live outdoor music and events, the market is designed to thrive both day and night.
If you’re ready for a fun day out, pop by Caerphilly and explore all the new market has to offer!
Ffos Caerffili is a key part of the Caerphilly Town 2035 placemaking plan, aimed at regenerating the town centre and attracting more visitors. The scheme has been supported by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government, and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda.
