Overview: 12,000sqm of healthcare-related floorspace and park and ride facilities

Planning: Outline planning permission

Stride Treglown was commissioned by Prime and University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust to prepare a masterplan to underpin an outline planning application for the development of a new Health Campus and Park & Ride facility at Bargain Farm, Adanac Park. The proposals are for up to 12,000m2 of health-related employment and ancillary uses, as well as a multi-storey car park to be used as a park and ride facility for Southampton General Hospital.

The proposals provide a long term and flexible development framework that will allow University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust and its development partner Prime to locate a range of health-related activities together in an environment that promotes and supports specialist job creation.

Working closely with the Trust, Prime and the rest of the consultant team to fully understand the Trust’s evolving long term requirements, we created a series of design parameters that set out areas for different types of strategic landscaping around the campus, coupled with the identification of areas suitable for the delivery of new buildings and ancillary uses, including infrastructure and car parking. We also carried out a number of detailed design studies to better inform the overall vision for the health campus.

Outline planning permission was secured in 2019 and plans for the site are currently being taken progressed.
