Hoxton, Holborn

A boutique hotel in the heart of Central London
The transformation of a Grade II listed office building in the heart of Central London into a 172-bed boutique hotel, coffee shop, restaurant and nail parlour for Hoxton Hotels, Soho House and Grind Coffee Co.
This BREEAM ‘Very Good’ refurbishment involved the construction of a single storey extension at ground floor level with an additional storey constructed at fifth floor.
The existing building is positioned above planned Crossrail lines and as a consequence the existing concrete frame structure is expected to be subjected to vibration disturbance from passing trains.
To resolve any potential disturbance created by vibration, a ‘box-within-a-box’ concept was implemented, isolating internal guestrooms from the existing structure and a hermetically sealed external envelope constructed.
