‘Stand Tall with Rachel Bell’ has been shortlisted for AJ100’s Communication Initiative of the Year award.
Hosted by Rachel Bell, Director of Partnerships, the podcast offers candid conversations with built environment trailblazers about life, careers, and defining moments.
‘Stand Tall’ follows Rachel’s personal mantra: face your fears, step into new situations, and encourage others. As a role model for women in construction, relationships are everything to Rachel, and this podcast is an extension of her natural interest in creating connections, sharing knowledge, and helping people understand what to expect from a career in the industry.
Attracting exceptional guests, including environmentalist Smith Mordak, educational activist Neil Pinder, and Make Space for Girls campaigner Susannah Walker, the podcast aims to inspire hope and enact change to a diverse audience of built environment professionals, architecture students and graduates, and anyone wanting to learn more about our cities.

Season 1 (2021) coincided with Rachel’s year as National Chair for Women in Property. Now in its fourth season, ‘Stand Tall’ has tackled critical built environment issues, including the climate emergency, wellbeing, diversity, inclusion, and placemaking.
A key highlight was a special episode in Malawi, where Rachel shares her own Stand Tall moment: leading an all-women group of adventurers on a purpose-driven trip to Africa, from the challenges they faced (inc. hungry hippos) to the people they met, and why Rachel keeps returning to this enchanting country.

We’re particularly proud of the podcast’s evolution. Over the years, we’ve invested in recording and editing equipment for a higher quality listening experience. We’ve also created an ‘Information Pack’ to provide guests with pointers on technical set up, interview techniques, and follow-up promotion; designed to improve their experience, while giving them confidence for any future public speaking endeavours.
