Toni Riddiford named South West Emerging Property Person of the Year

Congratulations to Toni Riddiford who has been named Emerging Property Person of the Year award by Insider South West.

This award is given to a person aged under 35 who has made a significant contribution to the South West property and construction industry over the last 12 months.

Toni Riddiford, Head of Office & Workplace at Stride Treglown, is currently leading several landmark developments in Bristol, including North Quay & DAS House and Somerset House, that are championing the re-use of existing buildings and leading the way in terms of sustainability goals and carbon targets.

In the eight years Toni has been part of our Bristol team, she has rapidly become an established expert and sector leader with a strong external profile.

As soon as we met Toni, we knew that she is somebody with real ideas seeking to work with us to achieve an innovative design and raise the standards of design in the workplace. In addition to Toni’s expertise, obvious experience, hard work, and relationship management, is her ability to be commercial throughout a project, which is very rare.

Outside Stride Treglown, Toni is an active member of the British Council for Offices and sits on the BCO NextGen South West and Wales Committee. She works hard to make sure diverse voices are heard in the design and delivery of office buildings by championing young people, women, and the South West region in what is a particularly London-centric sector of the industry.

In March 2022, Toni became Regional Vice Chair of Women in Property’s South West branch. This followed two years as a general committee member, where Toni organised several virtual skills sessions to support members during the pandemic.

Having worked with Toni in her capacity as South West Regional Vice Chair Women in Property (WIP), I have been blown away by her commitment over the last year. Toni is always positive and is a great problem-solver. I find myself to be extremely lucky as National Chair of WIP to have Toni on my team.

Toni is also passionate about outreach and takes part in both the BCO and RIBA mentoring schemes, as well as having previously acted as an internal mentor for Stride Treglown colleagues undertaking professional qualifications. She is keen to help bridge the gap between architecture in academia and in practice by offering students an insight into day-to-day life.

Toni has become a vital member the Stride Treglown team and we have no doubt that she will be an important part of our future, as well as the future of our industry.

We’re also proud to see Carriageworks, Bristol pick up the Insider South West award for Development of the Year (The PG Group, Bristol City Council, Carriageworks Action Group, Homes England, Sovereign Housing, Stride Treglown).
