The mixed use residential scheme at Carlyon Bay nestles softly within the Cornish landscape.
CEG has submitted a planning application for a revised scheme for Crinnis as part of the overall Carlyon Bay development. Stride Treglown has supported the application as technical advisor and developed the design of the original masterplan.
The new beachfront development is set to become a new place to live, work and play for the communities in and around St Austell, with 361 apartments, mews and beach houses and associated retail and restaurants, landscaped gardens and children’s play areas placed throughout the site. The beach will remain publicly accessible, with the development supporting year-round food and drink offerings and pop-up events.
The layout takes cues from Cornish cut-throughs and coastal walkways and will provide new accessible routes through to the three beaches. The design also replaces some of the existing hard sea defences with a soft dune, improving the visual impact and facilitating a biodiversity net gain for the site.
