We’re immensely proud to see 22 Handyside Street win a RIBA London Award.
The project – an ambitious three storey office development for Related Argent (KCCLP) – was designed by Coffey Architects and delivered by Stride Treglown’s London studio with exceptional attention to detail and technical expertise.
The building’s complex form, high specification in terms of materials, finishes and environmental performance, and location on the edge of the King’s Cross redevelopment site, directly over three live railway tunnels, resulted in many design challenges and engineering constraints.
The RIBA jury was impressed with the way that the client, architect and design team used the many constraints as “a springboard for ingenuity, creating an unusual but uplifting project”.
Resolution of the building’s many complexities, most notably the intricate geometry and façade, would have been exceptionally difficult without our highly detailed 3D BIM model and the technical expertise needed to create one.
Congratulations to Senior Associate Technologist, Chris Charlton and our team in London for their role in creating a building of such elegance and quality.
