No Place Like Rove – New Dubai Hotel Opens!

The first property under Rove Hotels, the 420-room Rove Downtown Dubai, has been opened by Emaar Properties and Meraas, with Stride Treglown proud to have been the Interior Designers for the project.

Exemplifying all the core values that Rove Hotels will bring to Dubai, the hotel has been described by Harpers Bazaar as “an artsy boutique hotel that mixes comfortable living with eclectic works of art”.

It is the first of ten planned hotels operational in the city in time for Expo 2020, six sites of which have been developed with Stride Treglown.

Located 20 minutes from Dubai International Airport and next to Downtown Dubai (the world’s most-visited lifestyle destination), Rove Downtown Dubai celebrates the vibrancy of modern Dubai, with a unique approach to delivering high quality hospitality experiences that transcend typical value hotel norms.

The hotel showcases works from several artists, such as Alia Al Shamsi and Nasser Al Zayani and has an inflatable toy installation in the luggage room, with hanging blown up animal toys sourced from local bagalas, the small stores which align Jumeirah Beach Road. The Daily Restaurant concept was designed in collaboration with FGStijl.

Anabel Oreiro, Head of Interior Design at Stride Treglown, commented:

“The opening of the first Rove hotel in downtown Dubai is a proud moment for us all. It is a new breed of millennial hotel, and the first of six that we have designed with Emaar Hospitality. We designed the interior to reflect the eclectic mix of urban chic and Arabic Heritage which is synonymous with Dubai.”

The Rove team commented on the hotel, stating: “Exhibiting striking centrepieces in the hotel evokes personal memories of Dubai. We can’t help but recognise the focus on heritage which lent a unique identity to Rove Downtown Dubai.”

Emaar says it hopes to appeal to the “modern traveller who explores without borders”, with a self-check-in option and 2pm check-outs, and each room coming equipped with a smart media hub, complete with 48-inch interactive TV.
