We’re proud to say that Pete Badger, Associate Town Planner and Sustainability Consultant, is joining Building Equality’s South Wales and South West committee.
Building Equality is a national alliance of over 70 construction consultants, engineers, developers, contractors, and institutions who are passionate about working together and harnessing their collective power to drive LGBTQ+ inclusion in the construction, engineering and built environment industry.
Pete brings 17 years’ experience working at Stride Treglown across town planning and sustainability consultancy roles – and his extensive built environment network – to this position and hopes to shape an active and progressive events and awareness programme across the next few years. His activities will dovetail with his active involvement in ‘Stride Together’ – Stride Treglown’s Inclusion and Diversity group, and he will be looking to build links with like-minded people and organisations across the industry.
One of three committee members, Pete will drive forward Building Equality’s vision to have a built environment and construction industry that is wholly welcoming, inclusive and supportive of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans + other related communities.
On his appointment, Pete commented:
I am delighted to be joining Building Equality’s South Wales and South West committee. This role builds on my already strong commitment to fairness and equality of opportunity for all, particularly within the built environment and construction industry. With my fellow committee members I’m looking forward to getting started on building new links, sharing best practice and organising some cracking events with an LGBTQ+ focus across South Wales and South West. This wouldn’t be possible without the support of the Chairman, Directors and multiple other people at Stride Treglown, to who I owe my gratitude.
We look forward to supporting Pete, and the important work of the alliance over the next few years.
We have teamed up with Building Equality to host an evening of food, drinks, and networking at our Manchester Studio on Friday 26th August 2022, from 17:30. Tickets are free, but spaces are limited so RSVP at your earliest.
