Innovative and sensitive competition-winning designs to transform a historic farmstead

Stride Treglown’s innovative and sensitive competition-winning design has transformed this historic farmstead on the Duporth Manor Estate near St. Austell.

The £7.5m project includes the conversion of the farmhouse, barn, two stable blocks, hayloft and a clock tower that have been conserved and refurbished to a high standard as part of the overall retirement living project.

The clock tower, which was in desperate need of stabilising and reconstruction, is particularly significant, being the only free standing listed clock tower on a farm in the UK.

The project also includes 30 new units of mixed contemporary building types including apartments and detached houses. The site has stunning views overlooking Carlyon Bay.
