Women in Property

Inspiring change for women in the construction industry.

Women in Property create new opportunities and inspire change for women in the construction industry. They champion the belief that success and its rewards should be founded on merit and expertise, not gender.

The group set out to create a more balanced, diverse and inclusive industry by nurturing girls that aspire to a career in the built environment, as well as supporting those at ‘mid-career’ or board level.

The Women in Property network links members to fellow professionals across the UK. They encourage an exchange of ideas and expertise through workshops, site visits, talks and social events.

Rachel Bell, board director and head of business development here at Stride Treglown, was chair for Women in Property South West during 2017. During her tenure, she hosted over 100 events and became a much sought-after commentator on the gender pay gap, sexism in the workplace, and encouraging more women into the construction industry. From March 2021, she spent one year standing tall for women in property as National Chair.

Taking up the mantle, Toni Riddiford became Vice Chair of Women in Property’s South West branch in March 2022.
