Stride Treglown makes the Education Estates awards shortlist

7th July 2022

Congratulations to our Schools and Universities teams who have recently secured four Education Estates award shortlists.

Working collaboratively with clients and stakeholders, our teams combine a deep understanding of new pedagogies, student experience, wellbeing, and future flexibility to create innovative learning environments. Here are some of the projects which have made 2021/2 a standout year.

CSE Innovation Space, University of Westminster

A £3m, fast-paced refurbishment that breathes new life into an underused asset with small, but impactful, interventions that push student experience to the next-level.

Abacws, Cardiff University

This 9,800sqm building, central to Cardiff University’s biggest campus upgrade for a generation, brings together the School of Mathematics and School of Computer Science & Informatics into one outstanding facility that promotes high-impact research and creativity.

IAAPS, University of Bath

A £60m automotive innovation hub which showcases the potential of good collaboration and early engagement to produce world-class R&D test facilities.

South Point Primary School

The first school in Wales to achieve net zero carbon for operational energy, whilst in-use.

Harris Academy Clapham

A building that pushes the boundaries of the traditional standard DfE school design and demonstrates what can be achieved on a constrained urban site to create a place where pupils and staff can thrive.

Estate Strategies: Universities of Exeter, Derby, UWE, Coventry, Sussex and RHUL

We’re supporting several Universities with Estate Strategies to guide investment, generate better educational outcomes, and achieve net zero carbon targets over the next 5-10 years. This includes post-Covid reviews of Future Ways of Working, estate digitisation, and space optimisation.

We’re delivering schools nationally

We currently have over 60 live schools projects. Thirteen of these schools will be delivered using panelised and volumetric MMC systems. Three schools are Passivhaus pathfinder projects for children with Special Educational Needs. Four schools will be delivered to achieve Net Zero Carbon in Operation (NZCiO).

You can meet our Schools and Universities teams at the Education Estates conference in Manchester on Tuesday 18 October 2022. In the meantime, please get in touch with sector heads, Danny Harris or Cora Kwiatkowski, if you’d like to find out more.
